Poniky ranks to the attractions in the lower Poľana region. There is the Gothic Roman Catholic church dating from 1310, the altar with wings of Virgin Mary dating from 1512, the Museum of Uncle Kapustík – a small private museum with a collection of folk art objects. Experts consider the side-altar to be a work of Master Paul of Levoča.
